Will it fit? Cylinder space checker

Measure the space, answer two questions and see every World Heat cylinder that fits, largest first, with the spare millimetres on each side.

Measure the space
Does the front open? (cupboard door)

Yes: no clearance in front. No: 300 mm in front for access.

Can the expansion vessel go elsewhere?

Yes: 100 mm above the cylinder. No: 500 mm above for the vessel.

How we check: World Heat’s clearance rules

Sides
5 mm each side. Width needed = cylinder width (diameter, or W for pre-plumbed) + 10 mm.
Back
No clearance: the cylinder can stand against the back wall.
Front
300 mm, unless the front of the space is a cupboard door that opens (then none). Depth needed = cylinder depth (diameter, or D for pre-plumbed, which includes the front pipework) + 300 mm, or + 0 mm if the front opens.
Above
100 mm if the expansion vessel can go elsewhere, 500 mm if it has to go above the cylinder. Height needed = cylinder height (H, including the case) + 100 or + 500 mm.
Horizontal
The same rules, with the cylinder lying across the width: its width is its length, and its depth and height are its diameter.

What fits

Enter the width, depth and height, and answer both questions, to see every cylinder that fits.

Getting it in. A cylinder usually has to be tilted to get it into a cupboard, so the height it needs on the way in can be more than its standing height. Check the diagonal (height against its narrower side, shown on each result as “tilted”) against the opening and the height of the space. This is advice only: the check above uses the clearance rules.

The ranges this tool recommends from: Unvented cylinders, Horizontal cylinders and Heat pump cylinders.
